Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the top queries our customers ask us. Please feel free to ask us about anything else.
How long will it take for my flooring to be delivered?
Normally we can deliver your new choice of flooring within a week depending on stock levels. We can normally arrange fitting within 2 weeks notice.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
We will normally ask for a 20% Deposit up front when ordering your floor. Payment can be take by card, cash or BACS transfer
Am I able to collect my order in person?
Of course, we will contact you when your goods arrive anyway, just let us know if you wish to come and collect them instead of having them delivered.
Is there a delivery charge?
We charge £20 delivery if within a 10 mile radius. If beyond that we charge an extra 50p per mile. Unless we are fitting the floor and then there is no charge whatsoever.
Can I fit my floor myself?
Only you will be capable of answering that question. Some laminates can be relatively straightforward to fit however it depends on shape of room, etc. Halls and round doorways in particular can be difficult to someone who is not DIY-minded. We definitely do not recommend fitting carpet, vinyls or solid woods unless you are a trained fitter. Unfortunately if you begin the job and can't finish it then contact us we will not be able to fix it without ordering more flooring and charging for fitting and fixing.
How can I clean my floor?
Laminates, solid woods can be cleaned with a damp mop. There are some floor cleaners on the market that can be sprayed on that also work well. If using water do not use too much on th efloor as it can cause it to swell and harm the joins.
Can you fit new skirting board with my new floor?
Yes, if you do not want the old skirting board to be put back on and do not want beading fitted we can supply and fit new skirting at extra cost.
What type of underlay do you use?
We can price for different types of underlay. The standard foam underlay or slightly more expensive rubber backed underlay can be used for laminates.
There are a range of underlays that can be used for carpets that can be discussed when pricing.
Why do I need underlay?
Underlay can save 10% of the heat escaping through your floor. For wooden floors it is a good sound reducer and can deaden noise by up to 50% Onw ooden floors it is important to have a level surface to fit to. Underlays can help achieve this. Underlay can add 30% to the life of any carpet. It provides a cushioning that makes the carpet feel comfortable under your feet. It will also make your carpet easier to clean as most vacuum cleaners "lift" the carpet pile to provide air circulation and ensure maximum cleaning power.
Is your estimating service free?
Yes, completely free of charge.
Can I take away samples?
We can allow you a small amount of samples to be taken from our showroom for a period of three days but contact details must be left as we have limited samples and this prohibits us from displaying them to other customers until their return.
